A need had been identified to support WIL leadership capacity building in universities and industry. A project had been undertaken and a report produced to describe the characteristics of WIL leadership. A framework of WIL leadership had been developed and tested. The distributed leadership approach—referring to situations when leadership is distributed among multiple actors who support others in achieving organisational goals—informed the framework.
The Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) reports on the project report under the heading ‘The WIL Leadership Framework’, which entails five domains, indicated in green, blue, pink, purple and orange in the image below:
