The Journal of Problem Based Learning in Higher Education (JPBLHE), launched in 2013, is an open access journal in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). JPBLHE is peer reviewed. It is published annually, with additional discretionary special issues. The vision of JPBLHE is to be “a global outlet for scholarship in problem-based learning in higher education”, representing “state of the art research in theory and practice of PBL”, and actively seeking “to promote transformative and progressive university pedagogy”. The “mission of JPBLHE is to publish rigorous research related to problem-based learning in higher education”, engaging “key and emerging scholars in significant discussion of key issues facing PBL”; providing “up-to-date information to scholars and practitioners”; addressing “current gaps in the literature”; and transforming “current learning environments and practices”.
