I based this spread on a problem-solving technique known as the 5W1H, which stands for Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. A variation on this technique is is the 5W2H, which adds “How much?” to the list of questions.
The technique can be used in any stage of the problem-solving process to stimulate ideas and to gather more information. The spread starts at the top with a description of the problem, then moves down for the five questions. For each of the five questions, there is then a “What does this mean” and “How” card. The “What does this mean” row can be left out if the problem is not very complicated.
