This technique is a twist on the traditional way of reading Tarot cards.
- Choose a spread, a deck, and shuffle the cards.
- Draw the number of cards that the spread requires, lay them down face up, but do not lay them out in the spread.
- Look at the cards you have drawn: how do you feel about having these specific cards in your reading? Make notes of anything that feels useful.
- Gather the cards you have drawn, and shuffle them.
- Now lay them out in your chosen spread. How do you feel about the position each card now takes?
- Read the spread the way you normally do.
While reading the spread, keep in mind everything that you found useful in stages 3 and 5. Compare the two positions for every card: with the card now in a spread position, is its energy dimmed, or strengthened? Does the overall energy of the spread look different with the cards now connected to a card position? Where might you have preferred the cards to fall? Why, and what can you do about it?
