This spread is more focused on problem solving than exploring a problem.
Use the cards as inspiration--write down everything that comes to mind while you are looking at the card.
This spread is not about divination or even exploring a problem in depth. The focus is on the possible solutions that you generate with card 3, and what comes to mind when you focus on the other six cards
Note: Write down all your ideas, even when they are not related to the card in question. The card should serve as starting point, not as a boundary of what you work with.
There is no wrong way or right way to use this spread. I would recommend that you freewrite everything that comes to mind while you look at a card
You don't have to stay with the particular position name of the card: e.g. with card 4, if more ideas spring to mind, write them down. Just try to also address the spread position.
Basically what happens is that you consider a problem by using the seven cards as inspiration and jumping-off point.
- Problem
- What do I have? This could be resources, obstacles and constraints, or a lack of something.
- Have an idea! Keeping your notes from cards 1 and 2 before you, and using card 3 as inspiration, write down ideas that come to mind. Try to find at least two or three. Stretch your mind; use your imagination. Do NOT evaluate ideas at this stage. Simply write down what comes to mind, even if it is unrealistic or just plain crazy.
- How do you feel about it? What is your gut telling you? Don’t evaluate, just feel. With this card, you can either work with each idea (from card 3) on it own, Pick one of the ideas from step 3.
- Why might this idea not work? What is wrong with it? What obstacles or constraints are in the way? What are the possible negative consequences?
- Why could the idea work? What is right with it? What are the possible positive consequences if the idea is implemented?
- Conclusion. Card 7 could be encouragement, motivation, a "nod of approval" or a next step. It is basically a rounding off of your thoughts from cards 1 to 6.
Now pick another idea and repeat steps 4 to 7.
